Asher Interview Scheduled for After Shabbat Amid Leitner Criticism

United Torah Judaism chairman and Knesset member Yaakov Asher is scheduled to participate in an interview for Channel 12’s Meet the Press, with the conversation to be recorded before the start of Shabbat. A special edition of the program is due to be broadcast on Saturday evening at 19:00, approximately half an hour after Shabbat ends. Moti Leitner, who chairs The Haredi Public party, criticized Asher’s planned participation and described it as a desecration of God’s name.
