Liberman Criticizes Netanyahu Over Draft Arrests and Renews Universal-Enlistment Pledge

Avigdor Liberman criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday over his opposition to arrests of Haredi yeshiva students facing military-service enforcement. Liberman accused Netanyahu of subordinating equal enforcement of the law to keeping his coalition together, and renewed his pledge that the next government would enlist everyone without exemptions or political arrangements. In a recorded interview, Netanyahu argued that arresting yeshiva students could undermine efforts to encourage voluntary Haredi enlistment. Netanyahu said Torah study should be preserved, while those who do not study should join the military.
