Shapira Predicts Eisenkot Will Receive Mandate to Form Government

Yashar candidate Shira Shapira predicted in an interview released on October 20 that Gadi Eisenkot would receive the mandate to form Israel's next government, saying the largest party would receive that task. She advocated a broad Zionist government committed to Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, universal service, a state commission of inquiry and eliminating the Hamas terrorist organization. Shapira called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take responsibility and leave office. She also outlined support for young people before, during and after service, including higher pay for those serving and psychological, financial and academic assistance afterward.
