Eisenkot Camp Reportedly Aims to Weaken Netanyahu’s Smaller Allies
Published
Gadi Eisenkot’s camp reportedly sees his campaign to make Yashar the largest party as a way to weaken smaller parties in Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc. According to private discussions and unnamed associates, the strategy is to attract disappointed Likud voters while drawing Likud into a competing drive to become the largest party, potentially squeezing smaller right-wing lists. Ofer Winter’s Amcha Israel was cited as a party that could be affected, rather than one already shown to have lost support. Eisenkot’s associates also argued that his own bloc faces no comparable risk of a party falling below the electoral threshold.
