Lapid Warns Largest-Party Campaign Could Cost Opposition the Election

Yair Lapid warned Tuesday that an election campaign centered on making one opposition party the largest could cost his bloc the election. In a public post, he said four previous campaigns built around that strategy had ended with Benjamin Netanyahu forming a government, including occasions when Lapid’s side held the largest party. Lapid argued that the opposition’s successful approach had instead been to campaign as a bloc. Gadi Eisenkot, meanwhile, said he wanted Yashar! to become substantially larger than Likud, describing that goal as the route to victory and a stable government.
