Sohlberg Rules Likud Must Pay for IDF Footage Used in Campaign Videos

Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg ruled on October 20 that Likud must pay the Israel Defense Forces for military footage used in its election campaign videos. The decision concerns material filmed by the IDF Spokesperson and incorporated into the party’s campaign content. The military material at issue includes footage of aircraft, tanks and ships. Sohlberg’s ruling requires the party to pay the IDF for the use of those recordings in its election advertising.
