Attorney General Directs That Netanyahu’s Officer-Course Speech Not Air Live

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara directed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the officer-course graduation at Bahad 1 not be broadcast live, citing concerns about prohibited election campaigning. The Prime Minister’s Office’s legal advisers were instructed to review his remarks in advance. The IDF had requested legal guidance after receiving complaints from citizens concerned that the military ceremony could become a platform for campaigning. The instruction was issued on Wednesday ahead of the ceremony scheduled for that evening.
