Zamir Tells Graduating Officers Unity Is Essential to IDF Strength

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir told graduates of the 76th combat-officer course on October 21 that defending Israel is a shared mission greater than the disagreements within society. Addressing the new officers, he described the IDF as the people's army and said unity within its ranks is essential to its strength. Zamir called on them to lead their soldiers with courage and wisdom. He also urged them to understand whom and what they are fighting for.
