Meirav Cohen Says Opposition Blocked Conscription Bill and Criticizes Netanyahu

Meirav Cohen criticized Benjamin Netanyahu over conscription legislation in an October 20 statement. She said Netanyahu had acknowledged supporting the bill and that its backers had needed just one more vote to secure its approval. Cohen credited the opposition with preventing the measure from passing and said she welcomed that outcome. She also argued that the proposed legislation would not have led to the enlistment of even one Haredi man, disputing its effect on military recruitment.
