Shin Bet chief David Zini reportedly told ministers in the security cabinet that he might ask to restore administrative detention in Judea and Samaria. The possibility was conditional on other measures failing to address violence by Jewish extremists against Palestinians. Defense Minister Israel Katz had stopped using such orders against Jews shortly after taking office, according to the account. Zini also clashed with Settlement Minister Orit Strock during the discussion; no decision to restore the measure was reported.
