Volker Beck Criticizes Berlin Left Party Over Anti-Zionists in Its Ranks

Volker Beck, president of the German-Israeli Society, criticized the Berlin Left Party in a German-language post on X published late on October 7. He questioned whether a dedicated staff unit, declarations and funding against antisemitism could be effective while, he alleged, the party tolerated anti-Zionists among its lawmakers and district organizations. Addressing the party directly, Beck argued that there was no need to fund efforts against such attitudes if it continued accepting them within its own ranks. His post named no individual lawmakers or district branches and gave no funding amount.
