Fisherman Developer Says Political SMS Campaign Used Over 600 Numbers in One Week

Fisherman developer Matan Gidnian says the Israeli spam-filtering app identified messages linked to one political campaign sent from more than 600 telephone numbers during a single week. He did not identify the campaign or specify when that week occurred. Gidnian says frequent changes of sending numbers make individual blocking difficult, and that reports from Israeli users help inform the app's machine-learning model rather than automatically marking a sender as spam. Fisherman is an existing app available for Android and iOS; its iPhone description lists on-device AI and user-defined allow and block rules.
