Beersheba Court Sentences Terror Operative Who Joined IDF to 24.5 Years

Beersheba District Court sentenced Shahadeh Abu Alqian to 24.5 years in prison on Wednesday and fined him NIS25,000 for terrorism and weapons offenses. He admitted charges under a plea agreement, including aiding the enemy during war and terrorist-organization membership. Acting for Gaza's Kataib al-Mujahideen, he enlisted in the IDF on May 22, 2022, to gather intelligence about soldiers and military sites. He also helped move an M4 rifle, thousands of rounds and five grenades to a concealed site in Judea and Samaria for the group. Security forces arrested him about eight days after he enlisted.
