Court Sentences Alexander Granovsky to 13.5 Years for Iran-Directed Crimes

The Central District Court in Lod sentenced Petah Tikva resident Alexander Granovsky to 13.5 years in prison after accepting a closed plea agreement. He admitted contact with a foreign agent, supplying information that could benefit an enemy, nine arson counts and other offenses committed during roughly two weeks of Iranian-directed activity in late 2024. Tasks included burning nine vehicles, photographing Benny Gantz’s neighborhood and power stations in Tel Aviv and Hadera, buying an IDF uniform, and providing details of people with criminal records; he refused requests to harm people. Judge Merav Greenberg called the agreed sentence severe but proportionate and stressed deterrence as Iranian recruitment of Israelis accelerates.
