Family Says Russian-Israeli Historian Held on Espionage Suspicion

Family representatives say Russian-Israeli historian Artyom Kirpichenok is being held on suspicion of espionage and contact with a foreign-intelligence agent, though Israeli authorities have not publicly confirmed the allegation. Kirpichenok, 51, was detained by the Shin Bet at Ben-Gurion Airport after arriving from Yerevan on August 2 and remains in custody.
