Police Arrest Main Suspect in Jaffa Port Assault

Police announced Thursday morning that officers from Jaffa station had arrested a 16-year-old described as the main suspect in an assault at Jaffa Port earlier this week. Investigators said the victim had been walking with a friend when he was allegedly attacked, and they were examining whether the incident had a racist motive. The suspect was questioned and held in custody, with police planning to ask a court that morning to extend his detention. A separate police statement Wednesday said a 17-year-old had been questioned and released under restrictive conditions.
