Police Disclose Alleged ISIS Plot Against Soldiers in Jerusalem Ahead of Charges

Israel Police disclosed on October 13 that an 18-year-old Umm al-Fahm resident was arrested in a joint investigation with the Shin Bet into an alleged terrorist plot. Investigators allege that he pledged allegiance to ISIS and, during the past year, planned an attack against IDF soldiers near Jerusalem’s Old City. Police said searches of his home yielded materials and digital evidence supporting suspicions of support for ISIS and involvement in the alleged plot. With the investigation completed, a prosecutor’s declaration was submitted on October 13 ahead of an intended indictment; charges have not yet been reported as filed.
