Police announced on October 8 that a prosecutor’s declaration had been filed against a 22-year-old Jaffa resident suspected of murder. The investigation concerns an August 30 shooting in Jaffa that wounded two men, one of whom later died in hospital. Police suspect a motorcycle rider waited for the men, who were inside a vehicle, fired at them and fled. The suspect was arrested on September 2, and investigators seized a SIG Sauer pistol and ammunition near his residence. Police said his detention had been extended and an indictment and request for detention through the proceedings were expected in the coming days.
