UK Police Assess Palestine Action Post by National Security Adviser’s Wife

London’s Metropolitan Police said Friday they were assessing an X post by Sarah Helm, the author married to British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, to decide whether further investigation was needed. Police said the post, published Thursday, referenced Palestine Action. Helm expressed support for the group; a government spokesman said she did not represent the government in any capacity. The assessment does not establish that a formal investigation has opened or that an offense occurred. Britain proscribed Palestine Action in July 2025; the Home Office describes its campaign against military-equipment sales to Israel, including serious property damage at Elbit Systems UK in Bristol.
