U.S. authorities announced charges on October 7 against Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, 18, of Richfield, Minnesota, over an alleged ISIS-inspired mass-shooting plot at the Mall of America in Bloomington. According to the criminal complaint, he selected the mall because he believed it was Jewish-owned and planned to attack an October 24 Hmong Arts Celebration. Prosecutors said he sought to kill 30 to 60 people. Agents arrested him on October 6 after an undercover transaction involving an AK-47, four magazines and approximately 200 rounds of ammunition; the allegations have not been established at trial.
