Feiglin Reportedly Weighed Eisenkot Premiership for Defense Ministry Post
Published
Moshe Feiglin reportedly indicated during August merger talks with Yaron Zelekha's Economic Party that he could consider Gadi Eisenkot as prime minister if he received the defense portfolio. The talks ended without agreement, and the account was disclosed Sunday. Zehut said the discussions tested hypothetical political boundaries rather than a commitment, describing a broad government including Likud and a rotation in which Eisenkot served part of the term. Feiglin later joined Bezalel Smotrich's Religious Zionist Party in a technical alliance whose agreement backs Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister. The Economic Party declined to discuss the negotiations.
