Sohlberg Orders Likud to Remove Billboards Linking Opposition Leaders to Abbas and Tibi

Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg ordered Likud on Friday to remove campaign billboards by 15:30 that day. The signs depicted Gadi Eisenkot and other opposition leaders alongside MKs Mansour Abbas and Ahmad Tibi, with text in Arabic. The decision followed a petition by Eisenkot’s Yashar party alleging that the advertisements violated election campaign law. In his ruling, Sohlberg found that the signs could mislead viewers about political connections between Yashar and other lists with which the party says it has no current association.
