Netanyahu Shares Claim Opposition May Drop “Defendant Law”

Benjamin Netanyahu’s Telegram channel shared a claim on Monday that opposition parties were considering dropping the measure known as the “Defendant Law” because of concerns it could fail a Supreme Court challenge. The post described an alleged alternative involving Ra’am as a full coalition partner and the Joint List providing parliamentary support from outside the government. It also claimed that legislation establishing a state commission of inquiry would precede the formation of a full government, rather than a temporary minority administration. The post did not identify participants in the alleged private discussions or provide a document confirming an agreement.
