Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef Puts Yeshiva Students’ Status First in Election Appeal

Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef urged yeshiva students to vote for Shas and encourage others to support the party in an election appeal on October 26. He said resolving the status of Torah students would take precedence over every other issue. Yosef said clear and unequivocal commitments had been received on the matter, without identifying who had made them or setting out their terms. The Shas spiritual leader also described abstaining from the vote as a serious religious prohibition, making participation in the election a central part of his appeal to students.
