Sa’ar Criticizes Lapid’s Remarks on Brazil and Serbia Election Results

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar criticized opposition leader Yair Lapid on Monday over his comments about election results in Brazil and Serbia, a day before Israel’s vote. Lapid had portrayed Aleksandar Vučić and Flávio Bolsonaro as Netanyahu associates whose electoral setbacks illustrated the power of turnout. Sa’ar said the two were important friends of Israel and faulted Lapid for defining them through their relationship with Netanyahu. He accused Lapid of turning his back on Israel’s friends and urged voters to reject Lapid.
