US Forces Reportedly Ready for Major Iran Operations Within 96 Hours of an Order

American forces in the Middle East could begin potentially major operations against Iran within 96 hours of an order from President Donald Trump, according to two unnamed US officials. The officials said Trump had not made a final decision on further action. Pentagon and Central Command planners have considered targets including Iranian energy infrastructure, military sites and nuclear facilities. Two US officials and an Israeli security source said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had sought additional attacks, while American officials wanted a delay until possible joint operations were ready; other sources said Israel appeared to have postponed immediate strikes.
