Gaza Health Ministry Reports Six Deaths and 26 Injuries Over 48 Hours

Gaza's Health Ministry said on October 31 that hospitals had received six dead and 26 injured during the preceding 48 hours. Its breakdown listed four people newly killed and two who died from earlier injuries. The statement did not identify the victims or specify the incidents behind each case. The ministry put the death toll since the October 11, 2025 ceasefire at 1,580, with 5,711 injuries and 845 bodies recovered. It separately reported cumulative totals of 74,594 dead and 175,834 injured since the beginning of the war. These are the ministry's reported figures; its release did not distinguish civilians from combatants. The ministry also said that 18 deaths had been added retrospectively to the cumulative record after their documentation was completed and approved by its deaths-verification committee. It dated that accounting adjustment from the previous revision on October 24, 2026. Those additions were separate from the six deaths reported in the latest 48-hour hospital intake. In a separate October 30 statement, the IDF said a Thursday strike in Nuseirat killed Hamas commanders Ihab Jamil Abu Taqiya and Ibrahim Gihad Muhammad Abu Oshaiba. The military said Abu Taqiya had been involved in holding hostages, including Emily Hand, Noa Argamani and Ohad Ben Ami. It said both commanders advanced attacks and helped rebuild Hamas's capabilities in violation of the ceasefire, and that precision munitions and aerial surveillance were used to reduce civilian harm. Neither statement linked those two deaths to the ministry's latest aggregate.
