IDF Reports Firing at Stone Thrower in Qalqilya; No Troops Hurt

Israeli soldiers fired at a stone thrower during operational activity in Qalqilya on Saturday evening, November 7, the IDF disclosed on Sunday morning. The military said several people it described as terrorists threw stones at the troops in the Efraim Brigade area. No Israeli soldiers were hurt. The IDF said troops opened fire at one of the stone throwers to remove the danger and identified a hit. “There were no casualties among our forces,” the military said. Its statement did not identify the person hit or give a medical condition. It also did not announce an arrest or a further operational step. In a separate operation in Qalqilya announced on September 24, forces under Efraim Brigade command searched for weapons following intelligence information. The IDF said soldiers, Border Police and police found two shafts approximately 12 meters deep and seized an M16 rifle, a hunting rifle, a pistol and ammunition nearby. Four people suspected of involvement in terrorism were detained. On October 29, the IDF said brigade engineering forces had permanently sealed the two openings with concrete that morning. It reiterated that engineering checks found no connected tunnel route and that the openings were not near the seam area. Those statements concerned the earlier operation; the November 8 account did not connect the stone-throwing incident to the shafts.
