Qatar Holds Iran Legally Responsible for Hormuz Tanker Attack

Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari said the targeting of the Qatari vessel Al-Rekayyat near the Strait of Hormuz was an unacceptable attack on international maritime navigation, global energy supplies and the freedom of safe passage. He demanded that Iran stop practices undermining regional security and said Qatar holds Iran fully legally responsible for resulting damage and consequences. The statement came after reports that the LNG carrier was struck near Oman with no crew casualties. For Israel, the Gulf response reinforces Jerusalem's warning that Iran's missile and proxy system threatens not only Israel but also Arab partners, energy routes and any serious diplomatic track.
