Pro-Israel Democrat Amish Shah Wins Arizona House Primary
Amish Shah won the Democratic primary for Arizona's 1st Congressional District and will face Republican Jay Feely in November. The emergency physician and former state legislator defeated Marlene Galán-Woods, who had the backing of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, in a battleground expected to help decide control of the U.S. House. Shah's published Middle East position supports continued U.S. defense aid to Israel without additional restrictions and backs Israel's effort to dismantle Hamas. He also supports expanding the Abraham Accords and denying Iran nuclear weapons.
