Donalds and Jolly Win Florida Governor Primaries, Setting Up Two Pro-Israel Nominees

Byron Donalds won Florida's Republican gubernatorial primary with 48.6 percent, defeating Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins. David Jolly, a former Republican congressman who joined the Democratic Party, took the Democratic primary with 61.5 percent. Both will compete in November to succeed term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis, and both hold pro-Israel records. Donalds, endorsed by President Trump, has said peace is achieved through strength, not weakness, while Jolly met Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem in 2016 and has called for raising annual U.S. military assistance to Israel from 3.1 billion dollars to 5 billion dollars. The two diverged on the American military action against Iran, which Jolly opposed.
