Nepal Flood Toll Reaches 160 as One Israeli Remains Missing

At least 160 people were reported dead after a flood struck the Nepal-Tibet border region, with 157 deaths in Nepal and three in China. Nepal listed 403 people missing, including 341 foreign nationals, while China reported another 265 missing at Gyirong Port. Israel’s Foreign Ministry said one of Nepal’s missing is an Israeli man in his 60s who entered from Tibet with an organized group before contact was lost. Chabad envoy Chezki Lifshitz said other temporarily unreachable Israelis were outside the flooded area; the flood’s precise cause remains under investigation.
