Nepal Flood Toll Reaches 626 as Israeli Traveler Remains Missing

Nepal’s disaster agency reported 626 deaths and 2,426 people missing after flash floods struck the country. Authorities said more than 3,700 people had been rescued, while poor weather halted helicopter operations and more than 100 people were believed trapped in a hydropower tunnel containing deep mud. Nepal Police had recorded 616 recovered bodies at 6:00 a.m. local time, before the later national toll. Nepal’s Foreign Ministry continued to list one Israeli traveler as missing, with none of the Israeli nationals in its table yet found.
