Qatar, Turkey and Egypt Tell Gaza Peace Board Kite Launches Will Stop

Qatar, Turkey and Egypt told the Board of Peace that kite launches from Gaza into Israel would stop, according to a source close to the body. The message followed Israeli pressure and warnings that renewed launches could derail the Gaza roadmap. Gaza sources said Hamas operatives visited schools and displacement centers to demand an end to the launches. Defense Minister Israel Katz had warned that every balloon or kite would draw a severe Israeli response, potentially including evacuation of launch areas. The reported assurance has not yet been matched by confirmation that launches have ended.
