Likud Court Gives Netanyahu Until 21:00 to Disclose Reserved Candidates

Likud’s internal court ordered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to disclose by 21:00 on Sunday the candidates he wants placed in reserved positions on the party’s Knesset slate. The court said the proposal should be published promptly, warning that withholding it could be construed as an improper fait accompli. If the deadline passed without disclosure, the court said it would consider allowing a secret ballot in the Likud secretariat. The full list had not been released when the reports were published, ahead of the statutory deadline for filing party lists at 22:00 on Tuesday, September 8.
