Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and French President Emmanuel Macron met at the Élysée in Paris to discuss Lebanon-Israel negotiations, the framework agreement, southern Lebanon and arrangements after UNIFIL. Aoun thanked France for supporting Lebanon's state, military and security institutions and welcomed a French-Italian initiative for a civil-military presence after UNIFIL. The two reviewed Security Council proposals intended to prevent a security vacuum, alongside reconstruction planning and support for the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces. They were due to join Jordan's King Abdullah II at Les Invalides for the preparatory meeting.
