The IDF and Shin Bet announced on Friday that Tamer Hamaida, whom they identified as a Hamas sniper, had been killed in an airstrike in Khan Younis on Thursday night. The agencies said Hamaida had advanced terrorist attacks and sniper activity against Israeli troops and civilians throughout the war. Their joint statement disclosed his identity and described him as planning attacks against IDF forces. It also said security forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and would continue acting to remove immediate threats.
