The IDF announced Thursday that an airstrike in the Gaza City area a day earlier killed Ammar Mahmoud Muhammad Sharafi, whom it identified as a platoon commander in Hamas’s military wing. The military said he had recently advanced terror attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and worked to restore Hamas’s capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire agreement. It said precision munitions and aerial surveillance were used before the strike to mitigate civilian harm. Southern Command troops remain deployed in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating against immediate threats, the IDF said.
