The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange is reportedly conducting an advanced examination of buying the Cyprus Stock Exchange in Nicosia through Cyprus’s planned privatization tender. Neither its management nor its board has decided to submit a bid; that decision would follow publication of the tender and review of its eligibility conditions. The report estimates a potential acquisition value of €20 million–€40 million and identifies the Athens exchange as a possible competing bidder. TASE’s September strategic plan envisages expansion through acquisitions and strategic investments.
