Aoun Reportedly Orders Faster Explosives Inquiries and Public Findings

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has reportedly instructed security and judicial leaders to accelerate investigations into two explosives shipments and make the completed findings public. The instructions concern a shipment intercepted at Dahr al-Baydar and a subsequent shipment originating from Syria. Aoun reportedly considered the incidents attempts to undermine Lebanon’s stability and sought swift completion of the inquiries. The instructions were reported on October 14, while the account did not establish the precise time at which Aoun issued them.
