Israel Signs Pentagon Deal for 12 Apache Echo Helicopters

Israel’s Ministry of Defense announced on October 14 that it had signed an agreement with the Pentagon to buy 12 Boeing Apache Echo attack helicopters for the IDF. The ministry said delivery is expected at the beginning of the next decade. Director General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram instructed the ministry’s U.S. delegation to sign after government approval on Wednesday. Israeli budget constraints had prompted several deadline extensions, which the U.S. administration granted while the delegation and the ministry’s Budget Department developed the financing arrangement. The ministry thanked Washington for the flexibility that helped overcome the funding gaps.
