Survey Finds Opposition to State Support for New Jewish Communities in Galilee

Among northern Israel’s Arab respondents in a Direct Polls survey commissioned by Lev BaGalil, 63% rejected Israel’s right to encourage new Jewish communities in Galilee; 15% agreed and 22% were unsure. On Israeli sovereignty there, 51% accepted it unreservedly, while 49% accepted it for lack of an alternative and favored future change. In a hypothetical two-state scenario, 54% preferred Galilee to remain within Israel. Lev BaGalil urged stronger Jewish communities and fewer construction barriers. The report disclosed no sample size, fieldwork dates, sampling method or margin of error.
