Israel Gasoline Price to Fall to NIS 7.35, With Tax Relief Due to Expire

Israel’s maximum self-service price for unleaded 95-octane gasoline will fall by 42 agorot to NIS 7.35 per liter at midnight between Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1. The Fuel and Gas Administration in the Energy and Infrastructure Ministry announced the change on Thursday, October 29. The new regulated maximum includes VAT. The full-service supplement will remain unchanged at 26 agorot per liter, including VAT. The announced reduction takes the self-service maximum down from NIS 7.77. It applies to the regulated price of 95-octane gasoline, with the separate full-service supplement continuing at the same rate as in the preceding update. The lower price is due to last only a few days under the current temporary excise-tax arrangement. Unless the excise order is changed, the relief expires overnight between November 4 and November 5, and the maximum self-service price will rise to NIS 8.35 per liter from November 5. That increase remains conditional on the tax relief ending as scheduled. The ministry’s preceding excise-related adjustment took effect overnight between October 4 and October 5. Its dated announcement set the self-service maximum at NIS 7.77 after a 50-agorot reduction and kept the full-service supplement at 26 agorot. The next announced price change is the November 1 reduction, followed by the scheduled expiry of the temporary tax provision unless the order is amended.
