Better Choice Recalls Four Dark Chocolates Over Undeclared Milk
Published
Better Choice Ltd. announced a voluntary recall of four 100-gram dark-chocolate products on October 30 after a consumer complaint led to the discovery of milk allergen that was not declared on their labels. The company notice, published by the Health Ministry, said milk was missing from both the ingredients list and the allergen list. The warning concerns the specified products and expiry dates. The affected COTE D’IVOIRE 60% chocolate has barcode 4610082664050 and an expiry date of November 18, 2027. The GHANA 67% chocolate has barcode 4610082664067 and expires on October 25, 2027. Both are listed as 100-gram bars in the recall notice. The other two products are COLOMBIA 80%, barcode 4610082664074, and DOMINICANA 77%, barcode 4610082664081. Both carry an expiry date of December 6, 2027, and weigh 100 grams. The notice identifies a Russian confectionery manufacturer and an importer, alongside Better Choice, in its product information. The company asked consumers with a milk allergy, or allergies to other allergens already listed on the labels, not to consume the affected products. It said it was collecting the products from distribution and sales channels in coordination with the Health Ministry’s Ashkelon District Food Service. For a refund, the notice directs consumers to the point of sale or to the company’s customer service number, 0509091517.
