Zano Brothers Recalls Fresh Atlantic Salmon Over Incorrect Use-By Year
Zano Brothers Fish has announced a recall of vacuum-packed fresh Atlantic salmon fillet after a labeling error put the wrong year on its use-by date. The Health Ministry published the notice on November 5, saying consumer complaints had brought the printing mistake to the company’s attention. The date printed on the affected product is October 31, 2027, while the correct last date for use is October 31, 2026. The notice identifies the product as fresh Atlantic salmon fillet in a vacuum package containing approximately 1.5 kilograms. It names DCD in the Netherlands as the manufacturer and Zano Brothers Fish as the marketer. The product carries a fishing date of October 18, 2026, and the shipment code is 5231/194/26. The recall concerns the product with those identifying details and the incorrect use-by year. The recall notice states: “Consumers who have the product are asked not to consume it.” The company is collecting the affected salmon from distribution channels in coordination with the Health Ministry’s Food Service. For inquiries about the recall, the notice gives the company’s telephone number, 08-8521215, and email address, ERAN@ZANO-DAGIM.CO.IL.
