Mamdani Acknowledges He Cannot Order Netanyahu's Arrest in New York

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said his administration explored every legal option to enforce the International Criminal Court warrant against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but lacks independent authority to do so. The acknowledgment narrows his earlier pledge to have Netanyahu detained during a September United Nations visit. Mamdani continued to accuse Netanyahu of war crimes and asked the Trump administration to enforce the warrant. President Donald Trump said Netanyahu would not be arrested in the United States and criticized Mamdani's threat.
