Three Indian Refiners and Global Energy Major Plan to Avoid Iran-Listed Ships

At least three Indian refiners and one global energy major plan to stop using ships on Iran's blacklist, including for ship-to-ship transfers, four sources with direct knowledge said. Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority listed 45 ships and warned that listed vessels could be fined, detained or have cargo confiscated. Some listed tankers have carried crude, refined products and liquefied natural gas for transfers off Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates and Sohar in Oman. Kpler analyst Ana Subasic said compliance-sensitive buyers would likely avoid the vessels, potentially shifting trade to alternative ships or transfer sites while raising freight, insurance and risk premiums.
