After a review of October 7 failures, Ground Forces commander Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan has directed that the IDF’s Combat Intelligence Collection Corps become an additional collection agency for the Military Intelligence Directorate, Aman, with Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir’s approval, according to newly disclosed reporting. Daily intelligence gathered by female surveillance observers would be transferred routinely to Aman. Reports combining observations and other sensors would also give battalion, territorial brigade and division commanders an updated picture of threats along Israel’s borders. A separate decision calls for a training base at Ovda involving about 1,000 soldiers, with collection training through battalion level.
