NTA announced on October 7 that Israeli and international contractor groups had completed prequalification to compete for Gush Dan Metro civil-engineering contracts valued at approximately NIS 65 billion. The Infra 1 packages cover tunnel excavation, underground station structures and connections between street level and stations. The reported works include 75 kilometers of twin tunnels and 59 underground stations within the planned metropolitan Tel Aviv network. Prequalification allows the groups to enter construction tenders; it does not award them contracts. The wider three-line Metro plan spans approximately 150 kilometers and 109 stations across 24 municipalities.
