Population Authority Reportedly Plans AI Border Gates at Ben Gurion Airport

The Population and Immigration Authority reportedly plans to introduce artificial-intelligence technology, monitoring cameras and two-stage passage gates at Ben Gurion Airport. The measures are slated for entry gates during 2026, with departure gates following in 2027. The report links the planned changes to passengers bypassing exit restrictions by passing through border control immediately behind another traveler. These are reported plans for a phased border-control upgrade, with entry and departure systems on different schedules, rather than a completed deployment at the airport.
